Bethlehem's Buzzin'

On Monday we finally got to perform our Nativity Play-Bethlehem's Buzzin'!

Despite being a bit nervous we did a fantastic job, and made everyone very proud. Here we are looking fabulous in our costumes...

DoodleBug Workshop

Yesterday we were lucky to have a special visitor. Ian Brealey-the artist who painted our mural, came to school to do art workshops with each class.

He worked with us, and taught us all, step by step,  to draw Wallace from Wallace and Gromit. The techniques he taiught us will be useful for any drawing we do from now on, Mrs Davies definitely learnt some new skills!

Halloween Disco

On Friday the PFA organised a fabulous Halloween Disco.

Lots of the Jets class went to the disco, and scared Mrs Davies with their spooky costumes! They all had a lovely time dancing and playing games. Here are some photos from the disco...

Today is our first day in our new class. We have had a lovely day so far, doing lots of exciting things.

Strange Events!

At the weekend Mrs Savage got a phonecall to say that something had crashed in our playground!

We didn't know anything about it until we got to school this morning, and were greeted by some strange sights and sounds. We had a special assembly, where Mrs Savage explained that she didn't know exactly what had happened, but it was safe and that we might be able to help the police and the scientists to investigate the mystery landing.

We decided to be journalists for the day. We investigated the scene, took photos, interviewed different people and even helped the police with some fingerprints! Finally we wrote our own newspaper articles, and some of us even made a video news update to share what we had learnt!

Human Machines

On Monday afternoon we had a special drama workshop!

In our session we thought about the different parts of machines, and how they work together. We then created our own human machines in groups. Finally we came together as a class to create a massive machine!

A Day in the Life...

In ICT this term we have been learning about animation.

We decided to try something different, so we set up the ipad to create a time lapse video of a typical day in our classroom. It took a photo every 20 seconds, then put them together to make a film. We then added a title, some music and some credits, and here it is for you to enjoy...

Comic Relief

For Red Nose Day we all came to school dressed as superheroes! Some of us were instantly recognisable, but it was lovely to see so many new superheroes too...

World Book Day

Today was World Book Day.

To celebrate we all brought in nightwear, a favourite teddy and a good book. This afternoon we got changed and met the rest of the school in the hall. It was lovely to share our books with children from throughout the school, from Nursery all the way up to Year 6!

Our Trip to The National Space Centre

To finish off our amazing topic on space, yesterday we went on a trip to The National Space Centre in Leicester.

We had a really brilliant time, and got to explore lots of very exciting things. We all found out more about space, but it definitely also showed just how much we had already learned! Here are some photos of our day...



We are very sad to se the end of this brilliant topic, (but as our new topic is "Cracking Contraptions," Mrs Davies is sure we can still manage to find some links to space!)

Pearl Class Science Projects

Today we were very lucky to be invited to the Pearls Class, to view their science projects. As they have also been learning about space it was really useful for us to be able to ask lots of questions, but we also got to share some of our own knowledge!

We all liked different projects the best, but we definitely agreed that they were all brilliant, we were very impressed! Well done Pearls!

Yesterday we used the ipad to make a class film, here it is for you to enjoy at home!

Christmas with the Aliens

Last week we finally got to perform our nativity play "Christmas with the Aliens." We have been working hard for weeks rehearsing for the show, and it all paid off! We completed two fabulous performances on Wednesday, as well as a great dress rehearsal for the school on Tuesday. 

Well done to all the children for their hard work, and thank you to the parents for all the support.

Children In Need

For Children in Need we all paid a donation to bring a favourite Teddy Bear in to school with us for the day. We had a lovely day, and raised lots of money for a good cause!
