As we are reaching the end of our history work on the Great Fire of London, we decided to show what we have learnt by creating some films.
We worked together in groups, using the ipads to create our films. Some groups chose to use imovie, and some used toontastic to create animated films.
Here are some of the finished products. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them!

Last week we continued learning about The Great Fire of London.
As part of our topic work, we used the laptops to play a great game. Here is the link so you can play again at home:

Samuel Pepys
This week in literacy we are continuing our work on recounts, and in history we are learning about Samuel Pepys and his diary.
Today we made video diaries to recount the events of The Great Fire of London from Samuel Pepys' point of view. They were very dramatic!

How to...Cook London!
Last week in our topic lessons we began to learn about The Great Fire of London.
First we looked at the facts of what happened, and sequenced the events into the right order. After that we started thinking about the factors that made the fire so serious.
We decided to use our Pudding Lane Bakery role play area to create our own comedy cookery shows. Each show had to include instructions for how to "cook London!" Every group approached the task in a different way, but the results were all very entertaining (and educational!)

More Moon Landings
Today we learnt more about the Moon landings. Children worked to describe the events in imaginative ways. Here is a video of Michael's description, he uses some great wow words!

Moon Landing
In history this week we have been learning about the 1969 Moon Landing.
Michael's mum. very kindly, lent us some newspapers from the time which we were very excited to look at! They were very delicate and had been carefully kept for many years, so Mrs Davies was a bit nervous! Thank you Michael's Mum.
We also watched videos of the moon landing, and some TV interviews from the time. Then we did lots of different drama. Orange group acted out the landing, Green and Purple groups imagined they were the astronauts and interviewed each other, and Blue group worked on the ipad to make an animation of the landing!

Hopefully we will be able to add some of green and purple groups interview videos later!
