Saint George

This week in literacy we have been learning about Saint George, the patron Saint of England.

First we researched the true story of St. George, and why he is our Saint. Then we found out about The Legend of St. George and the Dragon. We have read different versions of the story, and compared them.

Yesterday we looked at a fabulous poem, that tells the story in a different way. We worked in groups to learn a verse each, and came up with our own actions to make the poem even more exciting! Then we worked together, as a whole class to perform the poem. we really brought it to life, as you can see...

Tomorrow we will write our own versions of the legend, using ideas from all our work this week.

Finally, we will celebrate St. George's day on Monday 23rd April with a tea party! Expect photos to appear on the blog soon after.

Please leave a comment about St. George.
